Although it's a strong specialisation within my skillset, I've kept Retouching at this second layer of my portfolio's navigation deliberately. I view it as most often being a part of bigger design, advertising and marketing campaigns - not the sole aspect that the creative venture relies on.
AI imaging is changing how we manipulate photos and illustrate concepts. It still needs a human to drive it in this context, ideally a creative artist who can get desired outcomes.
There is still a huge need for traditional digital retouching skills using industry-standard Adobe Photoshop software. It can be compositing AI generated assets into other scenes, or not even using the current crop of AI resources. They're amazing and I use them extensively, but they're not the quick fix for everything and still need an artist's guidance.
